Broward Regional Health Planning Council, Inc. (BRHPC), a 501(C)3 not-for-profit, was established in 1982 under Florida Statute (408.033) as the legislatively designated Broward County local health planning entity. Broward Regional Health Planning Council, Inc. is committed to developing and providing health and human service innovations at the national, state, and local level through planning, direct services, evaluation, and capacity building. For over three decades, BRHPC has been a leader in identifying critical health and human services needs in the community and finding solutions to address these needs with its community partners.

BRHPC has strived to demonstrate excellence through the delivery of quality services and programs that meet the needs of the entire community from infants to the elderly. BRHPC’s direct service programs serve uninsured and underinsured low-income Broward County residents. These services include: Maternal and Child Home Visitation, Quality Assurance, Eligibility, Housing Assistance, Disease Prevention, Premium Assistance Program, HIV/AIDS Planning, and ten single-family housing units. BRHPC provides coordinated, efficient, cost-effective and client-centered services with a diverse workforce. BRHPC staff consists of over approximately 50 culturally competent multilingual professionals fluent in Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, and Portuguese.

BRHPC has managed coordinated public health planning efforts locally for almost three decades, developing trust by engaging funders, providers, consumers and other stakeholders while leveraging community resources. Recent activities also include conducting Community Health Needs Assessments for multiple local hospitals, which involves data collection and analysis utilizing quantitative and qualitative methodologies. As a neutral party, BRHPC facilitates resolution of issues between stakeholders with opposing viewpoints in order to improve access to quality care. Staff coordinates and facilitates the following countywide committees on a monthly basis: Quality of Life, Healthcare Access, Trauma and the Behavioral Health System Efficiency/Integration Ad Hoc Workgroup, HIV Planning Council (and 10 subcommittees) and the five service-category-specific HIV Quality Improvement Networks, to name a few.

BRHPC takes pride in more than 40 years of service history of strong fiscal management and experience in administering multimillion dollar cost reimbursement and unit based contracts. With the strong commitment and dedication of its staff, administration and governing board, BRHPC is positioned to continue to strengthen and grow its ability to address the needs of the community.
